Peter Badcock-Walters is a southern African renaissance man: Conceived in the Victoria Falls rain forest in Livingstone (Zambia), he was born in Pretoria, through an accident of travel, and grew up in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). Peter is the author and illustrator of six best-selling books, which have sold over 65,000 copies in southern Africa, courtesy of seven mostly agreeable publishers. His illustrations, drawings and paintings hang in collections internationally.
Faces of War also a runaway best-seller in three editions including one bound in leather, cemented his international reputation as one of the last war artists of the twentieth-century.
As a consequence, Peter covered the border war in South-West Africa (Namibia), producing a third detailed book of verse and pencil illustration, Images of War (Graham Publishing, 1981) in standard and leather-bound editions. Peter has completed almost 100 pencil drawings of war and its impact in southern Africa, the originals and prints of which are much sought after.
